… the occasion was none other than the NMR RABDF Gold Cup Open Day, a prestigious event that showcases the pinnacle of dairy excellence, hosted by this year’s winners of the Gold Cup, the Logan family.

Exploring the Gold Cup Open Day

The Gold Cup Open Day is a unique opportunity for the winning dairy farmers to open their gates and share their best practices, experiences, and accomplishments with fellow professionals. It is a celebration of all the hard work and dedication that goes into producing top-quality milk and sustaining the British dairy industry.

The Logan family were announced as this year’s winner at the Dairy Tech show, back in February, recognising excellence within dairy businesses. Launched in 1920, the accolade has been won by some of Britain’s most influential farmers over the years! The award considers elements of milk production, cow welfare and genetic management, and aims to award all-round excellence in the dairy sector.

The Logan’s attributed their success to the use of technology and data to maximise the health and welfare of their herd.

Kilbirnie, Ayrshire, served as the perfect backdrop for this year’s event. The rolling hills and picturesque landscapes provided a stunning setting for attendees to immerse themselves in the day. From the modern facilities to the herd themselves, every aspect of the dairy farm was on display.
