As the last week of Charlotte’s work experience at Platts Agriculture draws to a close, we would like to thank Charlotte for all her hard work.  Here’s an overview of what she’s been up to since she first joined us 10 weeks ago!

Charlotte has been on work placement with Platts as part of the Business Studies course she’s currently studying at Wrexham College for 10 weeks and has completed 40 hours of experience.

Before completing her work placement, Charlotte didn’t have much work experience and the opportunity with Platts Agriculture has given her the chance to try out the Health and Safety side of a business, which before her placement Charlotte hadn’t considered as a career path.

Whilst Charlotte has been at Platts Agriculture, she undertaken various tasks including checking fire alarms, updating risk assessments and helping with a stock take. After been shown once, Charlotte took on several jobs herself with limited supervision doing weekly fire extinguisher and safety checks at all 3 sites and helping with fire alarm testing. Charlotte’s experience at Platts has helped her complete parts of her course work with modules such as Health and |Safety, being able to use real life examples from Platts.

Here’s what our group QHSE Manager Alison Fuller had to say about Charlotte’s work experience:  “I was really pleased to be in a position to offer this opportunity to Charlotte. I think it’s a great opportunity and doing work experience helps open up the ideas for young people.

My children did not get the work experience opportunity, which I think was a great loss for them. Developing confidence is important to develop in young people and an understanding of what may be expected of them when they do start work.”

Charlotte is hoping to complete her studies at Wrexham College and progress to study Business management at University of Chester. From everyone at Platts we would like to wish her the very best of luck !
