MixBed- Packaging Update

If you’ve been using our MixBed for a number of years, you’ll be aware that last year we changed the packaging of our product from our cuboid bales stacked 30 per pallet, to a neatly compressed flat bale, 55 per pallet. Here’s why:

Changing the formation of our pallets was not an easy decision after so many years, but following the success of switching our best-selling cubicle conditioner from bags to bales, we were confident these would be well received by our customers.

Our pallets of MixBed now come each stacked with 55 bales, and contain the same amount of bedding as previously, just spread across more units. The blend of sawdust and shavings remains unchanged- so you’ll still receive the same variable blend as you’ve always known.

More packaging?

“But what about the extra packaging?” we hear you ask!  Since the lesser bales require a thinner polythene to hold their shape, we’ve been able to reduce the actual packaging per bale by a huge 30%! On an artic load, that’s a saving of 13kgs of plastic! It can only be a good thing to be left with less overall waste.

Thankfully, our customers are reporting that the bales are easier to handle, move around and still allow for easy monitoring of stocks -to give direction to staff or keep on top of costs.

Watch this space!

We’re constantly looking for ways to reduce waste, recycle where possible and develop sustainable business practices- so keep an eye on our news page for any new initiatives or suggestions coming up soon!
