Pantomime Horse Race – Chester Races – Saturday 16th September
Caroline and Nerys from our team will be making racing history, by competing in the first ever Hospice Pantomime Horse Race at Chester Racecourse. They’ll be up against 25 “horses” to take to the start line and race for the victory in front of 20,000 spectators. Word is that the race is going to be opened by Michael Owen of Manor House Stables!
Platts are pleased to be sponsors of this first-time event, supporting the hospice, and of course, it’s sure to be a good laugh! Our panto-cow, aptly named “50 is the new 40” will be paraded round the ring by Exec Assistant Jen, before sprinting a furlong in a bit to win the race. If you’re at the races, go cheer them on at the start of the day. The race commences at 1pm!
Farndon Soapbox Derby – Farndon – Sunday 17th September
Meanwhile, whilst the ladies have been training for their race, our Soapbox Team have been busy creating our soapbox, ready to be launched down the hill in Farndon, for the Soapbox Derby on Sunday 17th September. Once again, we’ll be raising funds for the important work of the hospice.
Look out on our socials for the finished article, and wish us luck! It’s not everyday you get to push a colleague down a hill…
Most importantly – please check out our just giving page, and if you can, please consider sponsoring us as we look to raise as much money as possible for the hospice!
