In January 2025, Caroline will be swapping her business attire for biker leathers to take on a 10-day motorbike adventure across the Arabian Peninsula.
Caroline is calling on Wrexham businesses to join her in raising £15,000 to fund a place on the We Grow programme—a life-changing 12-month initiative by local charity WeMindTheGap.

Through this challenge, Caroline is not only discovering her own strengths but also encouraging Wrexham’s businesses to join her in taking action. This journey is not just about personal growth – it’s about creating transformative opportunities for others.
Caroline said “when we step outside the familiar, we open ourselves to a world of new possibilities, opportunities, and elevated growth. The magic happens when we embrace uncertainty, trusting that something greater and more impactful lies on the other side.
“It’s easy to stay within our comfort zones, but true transformation and realisation occur when we lean into the unknown. It’s there that we discover new strengths, make bold decisions, and redefine what’s possible for our lives and careers”.
The Adventure
The intense off-road challenge, will span from Dubai to Oman, pushing riders to their limits under the scorching desert sun. Joining Caroline is long-time friend Ani Sutton, founder of Discover Dynamix, along with along with a team of adventurers led by renowned explorer Neil Laughton, who previously climbed Everest with Bear Grylls.
Caroline said: “I really do find that pushing myself out of my comfort zone keeps me on my toes physically and mentally.
“It enhances my alertness and gives me the confidence to know that I am able to tackle all kinds of obstacles and big decisions in work or out.
“I have been to Croatia on a motorbike and last year my friend and I toured Ireland on bikes, but we are both road riders really.
Driven by a belief that everyone deserves the chance to reach their full potential, Caroline’s efforts are dedicated to the Wrexham-based charity that helps young people aged 11–25 who face barriers in education, employment and training.
Caroline’s connection to the cause grew even stronger when Platts Group welcomed a “gappie” who joined the business through a work placement. The gappie gained not only valuable skills but also the confidence to pursue new career opportunities.
Witnessing the impact of such an opportunity, Caroline was inspired to take on this challenge to encourage other local businesses to support WeMindTheGap. Through this effort, she hopes to amplify the charity’s mission and make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people in the Wrexham community.
Calling Upon Wrexham Businesses
The pair fly to Dubai in the new year, with the ride taking place in January 2025.
Before heading off, Caroline is calling on Wrexham businesses to join her in raising £15,000 to fund a place on the ‘We Grow’ programme.
Here’s how your contributions could make a difference:
£5,000 funds an outward-bound trip to Brathay in the Lake District for 10 Gappies – a priceless opportunity to develop teamwork, face new challenges, and build a personal growth mindset.
£3,000 provides 26 weeks of personalised life coaching, equipping Gappies with independent guidance from a qualified coach to plan their futures.
£1,000 covers the cost of a ‘Getting Ready for Work’ week, including workwear, CV writing, interview preparation, and job application support.
Supporting WeMindTheGap is an investment in the workforce of tomorrow. It nurtures local talent and demonstrates your business’s commitment to making a real difference in the community.
