Our dust-reduced horse bedding products are designed to directly combat the development of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in horses. Horses with COPD can find it difficult to clear their lungs of air before taking in a breath, causing discomfort and low energy.

The cause of COPD is strongly linked to chronic respiratory infections, which tend to begin when irritants such as dust find their way into the small airways of the lungs.

While horses diagnosed with COPD don’t fully recover from the disease, the illness can still be successfully managed. Respiratory infections can be prevented by reducing the horses’ exposure to dust, which is what makes Platts’ dust-reduced, hypoallergenic equine bedding products so beneficial to your animals’ wellbeing.
