This national recognition honours organisations that go above and beyond in their support of the Armed Forces community, and we’re proud to be among them.
Out of just 17 companies across Wales to receive the Silver Award this year, we’re especially pleased to see strong representation from North Wales, including Andy Swan Driver Services, Henry William & Sons, Royal Welch Fusiliers Museum, MPH Construction, and Cobra Life Family Martial Arts Black Belt Academy.

At Platts Group, we want everyone to have the opportunity to thrive within their workplace environment, including veterans, reservists, military spouses, and family members.
On the 17th of July, 2025, Caroline Platt, Group Managing Director, and Laura Lawson, HR Manager, travelled to Cardiff to accept the award at a special ceremony hosted by the Ministry of Defence. The event opened with a powerful gun salute in honour of the Queen’s birthday, setting the tone for a day dedicated to celebrating the Armed Forces community.
A big thank you to Tony Fish, Defence Relationship Manager (DRM) for North Wales for his continued support and advocacy, to Laura Lawson, whose hard work and dedication made this possible, and to Sian Lloyd LLB, a proud Wrexham supporter and advocate for our local community.
It was also a fantastic opportunity to meet with fellow employers committed to the scheme – sharing best practices, exchanging ideas, and discussing how we can build stronger local networks of ERS employers across the region.
We’re also looking forward to taking up Robert Govier MBE’s generous offer of leadership training – a fantastic opportunity to further develop our people and leadership capabilities.
In addition, we’re planning an event at Just Coffee Chester to bring together organisations who have achieved Bronze, Silver, and Gold ERS awards – to share experiences, inspire others, and gain a deeper understanding of the scheme’s benefits.
Earning Silver is a proud moment for the Group – which includes Platts Agriculture, Platts Transport, and Platts Commercial Services – but we’re not stopping there! We’re already looking ahead and laying the groundwork for Gold status in the next round.
